Itinerary

1

Day 1: Tangier / Chefchaouen

Upon arrival in Tangier by ferry, you will find our driver waiting for you. After visiting the city of Tangier, depart towards Chefchaouen, the famous blue city of Morocco in the Rif Mountains. On the route, you will have a few stops along the way. You will enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Rif Mountains. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel/riad.

Day 2: Chefchaouen / Fez

In the morning, after breakfast, you will have half a day to explore the Blue Medina of Chefchaouen. You will see the souks with the silk and wool weaving quarter, the main square with its cafes. After a break for lunch, depart towards Fez, the spiritual capital of the kingdom. Check-in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Fez / Ifrane / Middle Atlas / Medilt / Merzouga

After an early breakfast, depart for the south of Morocco. We stop in Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco, to take some photos. Then we head towards Azrou to see the monkeys in the cedar forest. Continuing to Midelt, a Berber village halfway, we have lunch at a restaurant. We continue traveling, passing through TIZI N TALGHAMT & Errachidia. We will stop at the views of Ziz gorges and Ziz Oasis. The drive continues to Merzouga, passing by Aoufous, Erfoud (famous for fossils), and Rissani (famous for dates). In the afternoon, we reach Merzouga. After having mint tea, the guide and camels will be waiting to carry you across the sandy dunes of the Erg Chebbi. You will enjoy the beauty of the sunset on a camel, and after one hour, you will reach the desert camp. Local people will play Saharan drums for you. Watch the stars, have dinner, and overnight stay in a tent.

Day 4: Merzouga / Rissani / Fez

After breakfast, depart towards Ouarzazate, including the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas Studios movie studios, the largest and most famous in all of Africa. We also stop at the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. We will arrive in time for lunch. Here we can visit the famous Kasbah, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site and which was the scene of films like The Gladiator, Babel, and Lawrence of Arabia. We continue passing through the High Atlas and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, along a road that climbs from the plains up to 2260 m above sea level, passing through small villages, small waterfalls, and through the continuously changing landscape and colors of these beautiful mountains. We reach Marrakech and drop you off at your Hotel/Riad for the end of the trip.

Day 5: Fez “Half-day Tour” / Tangier

After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll start a half-day tour to explore the cultural capital of Morocco. We will start the guided walking tour through the narrow streets of the medina, one of the largest cities in the world. You will visit the Quaraouiyine Mosque, founded in 859 by Fatima el Fihri, and the Andalusian Mosque, the Nejjarine Fountain, Medersas founded in the 13th century, Batha Palace (now a museum of arts and traditions), and Chouwara Tanneries. After a lunch break, transfer back to Tangier. We will drop you off at the port for the end of the trip.
